Facing growing outrage over a series of fraud scandals—including a massive $250 million scheme involving a food program for children—Governor Tim Walz now claims he’s fired staff responsible. The problem? He won’t say who.
Walz’s office declined to provide names, positions, or any details to back up his statement. State Rep. Patti Anderson, a Republican leading oversight efforts, said she’s unaware of any terminations and believes the governor is bluffing.
“These things don’t just happen,” Anderson said. “It’s impossible Walz wasn’t aware.” Critics say this is part of a pattern: scandals are swept under the rug, and the public is expected to trust vague claims of reform.
Without transparency, watchdogs argue, the corruption will continue—and taxpayers will foot the bill.
