'We Ended Cancer As We Know It': Biden Slammed For Jarring Claim As White House Attempts Cover Up

President Joseph R. Biden, Jr. appeared to make the claim Tuesday that his administration had "ended cancer as we know it," ironically causing many to question his cognitive health while giving remarks about mental illness.

Referring back to his promised "cancer moonshot," a proposed whole-of-government approach to finding a cure for cancer, Biden claimed, "They looked at me like why cancer because no one thinks we can. That’s why. And we can. We ended cancer as we know it.”

Critics and journalists alternately mocked Biden for what could be interpreted as wild and truly tone-deaf hyperbole (especially for anyone who's lost a loved one to cancer this year) or expressed serious concerns about the aging 80-year-old president's diminishing mental capacities.

Glenn Greenwald, the co-founder of The Intercept, quipped, "It's a sign of how bitter and polarized our politics are that there's so little gratitude toward Biden for having cured cancer or at least ended cancer as we know it. Some things should transcend partisanship, and a President having cured cancer should be one of them."

While independent journalist Greg Price tweeted footage of the statement, "Biden: "I said I'd cure cancer they looked at me like, why cancer? Because we can. We ended cancer as we know it," he commented, "The dementia is so bad that now he thinks he cured cancer."

The Media Research Center even took a few moments to fact-check the president stating that he in fact "has not cured cancer." Congresswoman Lauren Boebert (R-CO) noted, "Biden just told everyone that he cured cancer. I feel like that would have at least gotten a press release."

As the Citizen Free Press observed, "Democrats want another 5 years of this."

In a statement to The Daily Signal, Congressman Jim Banks (R-IN) stressed,

"The president’s wild gaffes shouldn’t distract Americans from the pile of evidence suggesting that Joe Biden took millions in foreign bribes. Infirmity isn’t a defense against impeachment."

While critics had a heyday with the president's gaffe, the White House entered damage control upon realizing the blunder. In the official White House transcript posted online, Biden's handlers attempted to change the record.

“And they looked at me like, “Why cancer?” Because no one thinks we can. That’s why. And we can. We can end cancer as we know it," the transcript reads.

It is becoming increasingly clear that the White House is propping up an elderly and cognitively impaired man for the sake of pursuing Democrat objectives. Hopefully, more Americans come to that realization at the ballot box in 2024.
