WATCH: Mayor Brandon Johnson Blames Texas For Creating 'Chaos' In Sanctuary City Chicago

On Sunday, Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson (D) joined CBS's 'Face The Nation' to discuss the growing problem of illegal migrants settling in Chicago as they strain local resources and cause immense backlash amongst residents who are gradually seeing their standard of living diminish. While Johnson failed to realize that The Windy City has created the problem itself by designating itself as a Sanctuary City, Johnson was more than willing to pin blame on Gov. Greg Abbott (R-TX), who has been busing migrants to Chicago for over a year.

When asked about the crisis by host Margaret Brennan, the mayor explained that Abbott is sowing "seeds of chaos" in the Democrat-run city. "Well, what we have is clearly- clearly an international and federal crisis that local governments are being asked to subsidize, and this is unsustainable, none of our local economies are positioned to be able to carry on such a mission," Johnson said, as reported by Breitbart. "And what we have attempted to do is to create structure and some coordination around this- this humanitarian crisis. And unfortunately, the governor of Abbott, the governor of Texas, Governor Abbott, is determined to continue to sow seeds of chaos."

"And last night, and several nights before, a number of buses continued to arrive in the city of Chicago, throughout the country without any coordination," he continued. "And now he's taken on this very dangerous task of placing individuals on airplanes and flying them into our various cities. This is certainly a matter of- of not just- of our national security. But it's the type of chaos that this governor is committed to administering."

As previously reported by the DC Enquirer, Abbott circumvented a city ordinance that would have limited the number of migrants bussed to Chicago by having the Lone Star State fly migrants to nearby Illinois cities instead. Over the weekend, the state of Texas flew hundreds of migrants, around 350, from San Antonio to Rockford, Illinois, a non-sanctuary city west of Chicago. The migrants were then put onto buses en route to Chicago; however, several migrants were dropped off in suburbs along the route.

Abbott's busing program began in 2022 and has led to thousands of migrants being bused to several Democrat-run sanctuary cities across the country. By November, the governor had sent over 12,500 to Washington, D.C., over 22,600 to New York City, over 18,000 to Chicago, over 3,200 to Philadelphia, over 5,700 to Denver, and over 1,100 to Los Angeles.
