On Thursday, Joe Biden told Fox News's Peter Doocy that he is, contrary to all available data, besting leading Republican presidential contender and 45th President Donald J. Trump in key swing-state polls.
Doocy began by asking Biden, "Why do you think it is that you are trailing Trump in all these swing-state polls?" To this, Joe Biden replied, "Because you do not read the polls ... In ten polls, in eight of them, I am beating him in these states. You guys only do two -- CNN and the New York Times. Check it out. Check it out. We will get you a copy of all of these polls."
The data do not lend credence to Joe Biden's remarks. Looking at a state like Arizona, which was exceptionally close in 2020, Trump is only tied with Biden in two of the polls conducted since August, per polling aggregator Five-Thirty-Eight. He leads in quite nearly every other survey.
Similarly, in Georgia, Trump has held consistently large leads over Biden since the beginning of October. That holds true for most of the other big-name swing states. Biden has managed to best Trump in recent polls coming out of Michigan, but this is perhaps the only swing state where Biden is overperforming expectations. As such, recent polling is in no way favorable to Joseph R. Biden.
These numbers have to scare Biden. After all, even with recent indictments, Trump has managed to be a unifying figure for Republicans, and voters are rallying around the 45th president in record numbers. As such, Trump is in as strong of a position with Republican voters as ever. Truly, Trump remains a potent force to win the presidency in 2024.
The Real Clear Politics polling average has Trump besting Biden in nationwide polling in recent weeks, and this is despite the fact that Republicans can generally afford to underperform in the popular vote while still winning the election -- as they did in 2000 and 2016. As such, it stands to reason that the radical, far-left Democrats would use any means necessary to gain a much-needed political advantage -- including indicting their most likely political opponent.
Trump's dominance is impressive indeed. Patriots all over the nation must rally behind the eventual Republican nominee as conservatives try to undo the damage caused by the Biden administration.
