On Thursday, Gov. Jim Justice (R-WV) joined ‘Fox & Friends’ to discuss a potential run for the U.S. Senate in 2024 against Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV).
“In a few of the polls, you’re up by about 20 points against Joe Manchin,” co-host Brian Kilmeade said, asking, “Are you considering running, and if so when would you make that decision?”
“Well Brian I am seriously considering it though,” Justice responded. “Whether people buy it or not Brian, my daddy would always say ‘if the good Lord knows and you know son then that’s all that really matters.'”
“At the end of the day, I am a patriot. I’m a real patriot and I’m worried about our country and that’s not hogwash,” he continued. “That’s not political hogwash and everything. I am worried about our country and that’s the only reason why I would run for the Senate.”
“But I am very seriously considering it and probably within the next very few days I will make an announcement one way or another,” the West Virginia governor explained. “I’m not going to tease people.”

“Do you think you would win?” Kilmeade asked.
“I know I would win. I mean that’s all there is to it,” Justice responded.
According to FiveThirtyEight, in a hypothetical matchup between Gov. Justice and Sen. Manchin, the governor crushes his opponent with 47 percent of the vote compared to Manchin’s 32 percent.
Manchin has received considerable pushback from his conservative constituents on his avid support of Democrat policies, particularly being instrumental in getting the so-called Inflation Reduction Act passed through the Senate.
If Justice were to run against Manchin, it would flip the West Virginia seat over to the Republican side thus making it even more likely that Republicans take control of the upper chamber in 2024.
Other potential Republican flips in 2024 include Ohio, Montana, Arizona, Nevada, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Virginia.
