Is 'Sound Of Freedom' Being Suppressed?: Viral Video Shows Theater Being Evacuated During Showing

Dozens of videos have been circulating virally across various social networks from Tiktoc to Twitter with average Americans recording their experiences attempting to view the hit film 'Sound of Freedom' from Angel Studios. The videos range from theaters with allegedly broken air conditioning to severe video errors disrupting showings to even evacuations of theaters. Speculation has abounded regarding these claims, even spurring AMC Theaters CEO Adam Aron to run rumor-control on Twitter.

According to Newsweek, the most recent viral video shows a woman claiming that she and a theater full of people were evacuated without any explanation and were not permitted to finish the film. It's one of several accounts of alleged "suppression" of the impressively grossing Angel Studios production that is taking the country by storm, as previously reported by DC Enquirer.

On Monday, a TikTok user known as @isntsheadaisy posted a 48-second video that went viral, with 800k views. Narrating the video, a woman says, "So I've been seeing all over TikTok that people are going to watch the movie 'Sound of Freedom' and these weird things are happening like random emergency evacuations, the air conditioning not working and having to leave the theater," according to Newsweek.

"And I thought 'No that's probably just something that's happening in other theaters in other places. So I took me and my daughters to go watch 'Sound of Freedom' today," she continued.

"About an hour and twenty minutes into the movie we get a random emergency evacuation. None of the staff knows what's going on. The mall wasn't being evacuated, just the theater,"

She noted that her ticket was refunded without explanation and quipped "But I guess you can call me a conspiracy theorist."

Aron responding to Twitter wrote, "Really bizarre FUD floating around Twitter that we are suppressing attendance for Sound of Freedom. Yesterday we showed that movie 3,000 times at our 570 U.S. theatres and more than 100,000 people watched it @AMCTheatres. Misinformation on Twitter is astonishing. Bots? Haters?"

Twitter User @RedRising11 claiming to be a "LARGE shareholder," replied thanking Aron for his message but adding, "I have seen video evidence of a couple theaters doing some questionable things… like shutting off the AC in the Sound Of Freedom theater only, or turning people away because the movie 'broke.' I think you have some rogue managers you might want to check on."

Additional video from TikTok users @bleighve1112 and @savannahlathem referred to the loss of air conditioning.

The latter referred to "shenanigans happening with these theaters." Another user shared two videos from other TikTok users of odd happenings in different theaters.

Co-founders of Angel Studio, Jeffrey, Neal, and Jordan Harmon, all replied to Aron and thanked him with spokesman Matthew Faraci telling Newsweek, "Our theatrical partners at AMC, CineMark, Regal, and beyond have been absolutely wonderful to work with—they're helping us add theaters as we speak in the middle the busy summer movie season."
