Leading 2024 presidential candidate and 45th President Donald Trump is continuing to put to rest any notion of him not being the leader of the Republican Party after a new Clarity Omnibus Survey revealed he holds a 56 point lead in the Republican primary.
The May 2023 poll was conducted from May 8-14 among 1,122 respondents. The poll’s margin of error is 2.92 percent with a 95 percent confidence interval.
In the Republican primary, Trump, of course, came in first place with a landslide 69 percent victory, 56 points higher than the runner-up.
Florida Governor and newly announced candidate Ron DeSantis came in far second place with 13 percent.
Failed Vice President Mike Pence came in third place with six percent.
“THIS POLL JUST OUT. WOW!” Trump reacted on Wednesday on his top-rated social media platform, Truth Social.
“Ron DeSanctimonious had ZERO CHANCE of winning the Republican primary for governor of Florida before a man named President Donald J. Trump endorsed him,” Trump said in a video released on Thursday.
This comes after DeSantis attempted to launch his 2024 presidential campaign via a live interview on Twitter with CEO Elon Musk on Wednesday, but failed miserably.
Sadly for DeSantis, the Twitter Space left over 600,000 listeners initially in a choppy, silence-infested mess. Many listeners weren’t able to even join the Twitter Space.
After 30 minutes of failure, only 170,000 listeners remained.
Trump’s sons Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr., reacted to the failure on Twitter, writing, “#DeSaster."
DeSantis canceled plans to give a traditional launch to his campaign, opting for the Twitter space.
With polls showing Trump in the lead amongst all potential Republican and Democrat challengers, any potential candidate will have an impossible battle if they attempt to usurp the favorite to win the 2024 nomination.
