President Trump has announced that Venezuela’s interim authorities will transfer up to 50 million barrels of oil to the United States, marking a major energy and foreign policy victory.
Following the dramatic capture of Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro, President Trump confirmed a deal with Venezuela’s interim government that will see 30–50 million barrels of oil shipped to U.S. ports. The oil will be sold at market price, with proceeds controlled by the Trump administration to benefit the Venezuelan people and the American taxpayer.
Energy Secretary Chris Wright has been tasked with immediate implementation. Trump emphasized the deal’s economic and geopolitical upside, noting that American energy companies will invest billions to repair Venezuela’s crumbling infrastructure.
The agreement signals a fresh start for U.S.–Venezuela relations and cements Trump’s role as a decisive leader willing to use both diplomacy and force to restore liberty in the Western Hemisphere.
