On Saturday, leading Republican presidential contender and 45th President Donald J. Trump warned an Iowa crowd not to trust former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley as she seeks to win the Iowa Republican Caucus. Donald Trump contends that she will sell the state of Iowa out, just as he feels Haley sold him out with her 2024 presidential run. The 45th president also maintains Haley launched her run despite explicit assurances that she would not do so.
"People who fund Nikki Haley and Ron [DeSantis] aren't working for your interests. They are working for the interests of other nations and themselves, and so are those two," Trump told the crowd, as previously reported by Newsmax. "Nikki would sell you out just like she sold me out. 'I'll never run against him. He's a great president. Why would I run? 'Ladies and gentlemen, I've decided to run.' You know, after listening to that for two years, she came to Mar-a-Lago to see me to inform me that she'll never run. 'They're all false rumors.' But then she ran."
Trump continued, adding, They had a poll the other day that was a classic, just to show you how dishonest the fake-news media is. And it said, headline, 'Nikki Haley Surging!' I said, 'oh s**t.' So I went up seven points, and it is hard to go up seven when you are already up sixty-eight ... she went up three, and DeSanctus went down one... she is surging against him... that is the fake-news media. But it disturbed me for approximately a second."
Trump also predicted Haley's presidential agenda, saying, "Nikki would grant amnesty to Biden's illegal aliens in her very first week. And, sadly, the establishment losers and sell-outs lagging far behind us in the Republican primary cannot be trusted on taxes, trade, or anything else. Like they betrayed me, they're gonna betray you. One thing about a politician — their original thought is what they go with. They're globalists, and they always will be. They can't help it. And, you know, some people agree with them, but not a lot. I don't agree with them. I think it's horrible. That's why we're in such trouble as a nation, And I want to help other countries; I will keep them out of wars, I will make threats, I will do whatever you have to do."
