On Friday, billionaire and X owner Elon Musk took to his social media platform to blast Hollywood actor Robert De Niro for comparing Trump to Hitler during a recent interview with MSNBC. Musk, who has been increasingly outspoken about his favorable opinion of Republican policies compared to Biden's failing presidency, condemned De Niro's ignorance, explaining that Trump's first term brought about the exact opposite of "Hitler's agenda."
During De Niro's interview with MSNBC last week, the MSNBC host asked De Niro why he was "making himself a target" by going after Trump. De Niro responded by calling on his fellow actors to take a stand, or else America could end up like 1930s Germany. "The idea to be bullied at my age by someone like this is not happening," De Niro said. "I think other people are going to have to stand up, and it's either that or you are going to find yourself in a situation that's so terrifying. We always hear about people from Eastern Europe. The Jews from other parts of Eastern Europe, from Western Europe coming over. Look what happened in France. And with the Nazis... Imagine what those people went through. I'm just starting to see it."
"You know, as a kid, I'd say Hitler, it's a nightmare that never would happen. But now I see that it's possible," the Academy Award winner added. In response to the absurd claim, Musk commented on the interview, writing, "Well, Trump was actually already president for 4 years and his policies bore no resemblance to those of Hitler, so this makes no sense," Musk wrote. "In fact, with the Abraham Accords, he made some progress towards peace in the Middle East, which was definitely not high on Hitler's agenda."
The Abraham Accords were successfully developed by Trump in 2020 after extensive negotiations brokered by the United States between Israel and various Arab nations, including the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and Morocco. The landmark agreements normalized relations between the former enemies and brought about an era of relative stability in the Middle East. While Trump ended his presidency by bringing peace to the region, Biden oversaw the deadliest attack on Jews since the Holocaust on October 7 when Hamas terrorists infiltrated southern Israel and killed over 1,100 Jews.
While Robert De Niro continues to spread falsehoods about Donald Trump, the American people, and Elon Musk know the truth. The 45th president brought unprecedented peace to the region, and his America First policies created prosperity for all Americans.
