BREAKING: The Six Republicans Who Voted 'Present' EXPLAINED — Rep. Adam Schiff Censured

The U.S. House of Representatives passed a resolution formally censuring Democrat Congressman Adam Schiff of California for his repeated false allegations against 45th President Donald J. Trump in a party-line 213-209 with six Republicans voting "present," on the privileged motion put forward by Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna of Florida.

Independent journalist, formerly of Breitbart and The Floridian Mona Salama reported via Twitter that Reps. Michael Guest (MS), David Joyce (OH), Andrew Garbarino (NY), John Rutherford (FL), Michelle Fischbach (MN) & Ken Buck (CO) voted "present."

The list of GOP members who didn't vote in favor of the censure was confirmed by The Daily Caller News Foundation. Luna said in a statement cited by the outlet, "Adam Schiff lied to the American people. He used his position on House Intelligence to push a lie that cost American taxpayers millions of dollars and abused the trust placed in him as Chairman. He is a dishonor to the House of Representatives."

She added, "The Durham Report makes clear that the Russian Collusion was a lie from day one and Schiff knowingly used his position in an attempt to divide our country."

According to Politico, any disciplinary actions will now be decided by the House Ethics Panel. Consequently, all six members of the panel voted 'Present' on the censure. Originally the measure would have assessed a $16 million fine against Schiff unless he resigned his office, however, this was removed after twenty GOP members objected, allegedly on "due process" grounds cited by Rep. Garrett Graves of Louisiana.

Prior to this censure, Schiff was previously removed from the House Intelligence Committee due to his conduct against Trump.

Before the vote, Schiff was unrepentant and openly insulted his Republican colleagues. “To my Republican colleagues who introduced this resolution, I thank you. You honor me with your enmity. You flatter me with this falsehood,” he said according to The Epoch Times.

“You who are the authors of the Big Lie about the last election must condemn the truth-tellers and I stand proudly before you. Your words tell me I have been effective in the defense of our democracy and I am grateful,” Schiff claimed. “And yet this false and defamatory resolution comes at a considerable cost to the country and to the Congress.”

Schiff was called to the well of the House to accept its censure following the vote. With the strike of a gavel from Speaker Kevin McCarthy, the disciplinary procedure was completed.
