'I'm Proud President Trump Likes Me': RFK Stuns Crowd With Uniting Answer To Divisive Question

On Wednesday, Democratic presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. absolutely stunned a crowd with his eloquent response to host Elizabeth Vargas’ question on him receiving praise from right-leaning political figures, using the question to unite the political opposites instead of increasing the division.

RFK Jr. did a town hall with News Nation where he answered questions from the host as well as members of the crowd. Kennedy answered questions related to his party, but Vargas raised concerns about Kennedy worsening the chances of Biden being able to win, essentially handing the 2024 race to Trump.

“You say that you’re a Democrat but you’re getting a lot of support from a lot of leading voices on the right like Steve Bannon, Tucker Carlson, Alex Jones, former President Donald Trump,” Vargas said. “Many Democrats fear that you’re a spoiler in the race, that you will damage President Biden in the primary and grease the skids for former President Trump to return to the Oval Office.”

“This week, former President Trump said about you, ‘Kennedy is smart and is a common sense guy.’ What kind of man do you think Donald Trump is?” Vargas asked.

Kennedy seemed to instantly sense the hostility that was behind the question, immediately shutting down any potential of him coming for his competitor's character. “What I’m trying to do in this race is bring people together, is to try to bridge the divide between Americans.”

The Democrat then began to recount the experience in the aftermath of his father's assassination, explaining that he saw massive support from both sides of the aisle for him and his family. He recounted how there were people from all walks of life, from black Americans living in urban cities to white rural Americans giving their condolences and love.

He then noted how in the next election cycle, people were no longer supporting the Democratic party as much as they had been whenever RFK Sr. had been a part of it, saying how his father “was able to harness these populist energies.”

RFK Jr. explained that that was something that he wanted to do, explaining that he is “proud President Trump likes [him], even though [RFK] doesn’t agree with him on most of his issues.”

He finished his answer by noting how so many Democrats claim they “want to end the polarization,” but added that it was virtually impossible unless they actually talked to people across the political aisle.

The answer from RFK shows exactly why so many right-wing people are advocating for him. He’s not just a candidate that can ruin Biden’s chance to succeed, though that certainly is a positive, he is also a candidate that is truly seeking to unite Americans from all walks of life.

In a time with such a fervent divide, it’s becoming increasingly difficult to unite people. Trump mimics much of the rhetoric of RFK but sadly the left is so vehemently hateful to him that they’d never give him the proper chance for compromise. Kennedy provides that opportunity for both sides to find a common ground and that is why some are starting to see him as an alternative choice.
