NYPD Mobilizing 700 Riot Police, Erecting Barricades Prior to Alleged Trump Arrest

Reports from sources ranging from Bloomberg to The Daily Mail have revealed that New York has mobilized 700 Riot gear-clad NYPD officers and erected security barricades and surveillance cameras outside of the Manhattan Criminal Court and Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office ahead of the rumored indictment of the 45th President Donald Trump.

According to Todd Starnes, NYPD has reportedly mobilized 700 riot police in preparation for expected protests in response to the alleged upcoming arrest of the 45th President of the United States. NBC4 New York reported that several agencies in addition to NYPD such as the United States Secret Service and the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force are collaborating on increased security measures.

‘BRAGG SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE’: PRESIDENT TRUMP BLASTS MANHATTAN D.A., CALLS ON NYPD TO ENDORSE HIM IN NEW STATEMENT

The New York Police Department’s deputy commissioner of public information said in a statement reported by Bloomberg,

“The NYPD’s state of readiness remains a constant at all times, for all contingencies. Our communications and coordination with our partners in government and in law enforcement are fundamental tenets of our commitment to public safety.”

A source reportedly told The Daily Mail, “It’s a major security undertaking because you don’t know how many people will be there. We need to be prepared for anything.”

Dennis Quirk, president of the New York State Court Officers, told the outlet,

“We’re going to have to close of the street around the courthouse so somebody doesn’t put a car there with a bomb,” he said. “How are you going to get Trump to the building, how are you going to get him into the building and court, how are you going to get him out safely?”

‘There’s going to be people protesters in the street.'”

Quirk was critical of Bragg and of the notion of having Trump indicted in person. “We believe this should be done virtually for everybody’s safety,” he said adding, “There’s no reason to have a big confrontation here tomorrow or Wednesday when it takes place.”

The New York Young Republican Club has tweeted an open invitation for, “members of the New York Young Republican Club and Long Island Loud Majority only,” to “Join us TOMORROW to rally for TRUMP against the unjust actions of corrupt Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg.”

According to the event website the group emphasized the peaceful nature of the planned protest, “Join us in peaceful protest of Alvin Bragg’s heinous attack on President Donald J. Trump and the legitimacy of the American judicial system.”
