Eleven-Time NBA Championship Winning Coach Announces He No Longer Watches The NBA Because Of How Political It Has Became

Eleven-time NBA Championship-winning coach Phil Jackson announced he no longer watches basketball due to its increasing political nature.

The Hill previously reported that during an appearance on Rick Rubin’s Tetragrammaton podcast earlier this week, Jackson told Rubin, “They had things on their back [jerseys] like ‘Justice’ and a funny thing, like ‘Justice went to the basket and Equal Opportunity knocked him down.’ They even had slogans on the floor, on the baseline. It was catering. It was trying to cater to an audience, or trying to bring a certain audience into play… And they didn’t know it was turning other people off. People want to see sports as non-political.”

The NBA has become increasingly politicized in recent years, with players and coaches taking stances on various social and political issues. Jackson’s comments reflect the sentiments of many patriots who believe that sports should remain apolitical and that players should refrain from getting involved in politics. While we allow room for limited amounts of politicking — for instance, the courageous efforts of Enes Freedom to stand up for free speech — these should be few and far between.

The NBA does not exist in a vacuum. It exists as an outlet for the American people to relax and come together as a community. Sports bring cities and communities together; they were not intended to pull the people of those communities apart. Of course, much of the game is unserious; but that is precisely the point. The NBA is not a political talk show and the NBA players are not pundits. It is a basketball league where the best players from around the world come to compete with each other.

MAGA patriots feel that the NBA has lost sight of its primary purpose, which is to entertain fans. They contend that the NBA has become a platform for social and political activism, which is turning off many viewers. They believe that sports should be a respite from the political bickering that dominates our discourse and that athletes should stick to playing the game.
