On Saturday, CEO of Turning Point USA, Charlie Kirk, announced that Turning Point Action endorsed the Republican Senate candidate set to replace RINO Sen. Mitt Romney, Mayor Trent Staggs.
“I just announced at #ACTCON2023 that TPAction has endorsed Mayor Staggs for US Senate from the great state of Utah. Massachusetts doesn’t need a third Senator. Trent is tried and true conservative, a family man, business leader, and an accomplished Mayor of Riverton. He will never cave to the establishment DC cabal, and he will restore Utah's voice in the US Senate,” Kirk announced in a tweet.
“It's time to retire Mitt Romney,” Kirk added.
Mayor Staggs reacted to Kirk’s endorsement, writing, “We will retire Mitt Romney. I am beyond grateful to have the support of @charliekirk11 @tylerbowyer and @TPUSA.”
“TPAction has your back 100%. It’s time to restore the voice of Utah voters in the US Senate,” Kirk added.
Riverton Mayor Staggs has slammed Romney’s infamous vote to impeach leading 2024 presidential candidate and 45th President Donald Trump.
“The only thing I’ve seen him fight for are the Establishment, ‘wokeness,’ open borders, impeaching President Trump and putting us even deeper into debt,” Mayor Staggs said in his announcement video.
“The question is whether or not Utah has a Senator in Romney who’s supporting them. So many have told me they don’t feel he represents them. They feel abandoned,” he said.
