America First Utah Senate Candidate Trent Staggs Urges Competitors To Sign Contract Banning Insider Trading, Lobbyists

On Tuesday, Utah Mayor and Republican Senate candidate set to replace RINO Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT), Trent Staggs, announced a contract for all candidates in the Utah Senate race to commit to.

The “Contract With Utah” contract fights to end insider trading in Congress, stop lobbyists from funding campaigns, enact term limits, and oppose omnibus bills.

"I am asking for all in Utah's Senate race to join me in this commitment to the great people of Utah," Staggs writes in the contract.

"My contract with Utah. To lead and support efforts to end insider trading in Congress, stop lobbyists from funding campaigns, enact term limits, and oppose omnibus bills. I encourage all other candidates to commit to the same," Staggs tweeted.

In September, Trent's former RINO primary opponent, Sen. Mitt Romney, announced that he wouldn't seek reelection.

"At the end of another term, I'd be in my mid-80s. Frankly, it's time for a new generation of leaders. They're the ones that need to make the decisions that will shape the world they will be living in," Romney said in an announcement video.

"While I'm not running for reelection, I'm not retiring from the fight. I'll be your United States senator until January of 2025," Romney added.

Turning Point USA CEO Charlie Kirk has announced that Turning Point Action endorsed Mayor Staggs.

"I just announced at #ACTCON2023 that TPAction has endorsed Mayor Staggs for US Senate from the great state of Utah. Massachusetts doesn't need a third Senator. Trent is tried and true conservative, a family man, business leader, and an accomplished Mayor of Riverton. He will never cave to the establishment DC cabal, and he will restore Utah's voice in the US Senate," Kirk announced in a tweet.

"It's time to retire Mitt Romney," Kirk added.
