Lindsay Graham Demands Action After FBI Director Suggests Trump Wasn't Hit By A Bullet

Following congressional testimony by FBI Director Christopher Wray this week, Sen. Lindsay Graham (R-SC) demanded that Wray immediately change some of his testimony that suggested that President Donald Trump may not have been hit by a bullet during an assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania, two weeks ago.

Wray testified to Congress that he couldn't confirm whether Trump was hit in his right ear by a bullet, shrapnel, or a piece of glass. Wray made his statement even though Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-TX), Trump's former White House physician, has repeatedly confirmed that it was a bullet that grazed the former president.

"It is clear to everyone that President Trump survived an assassination attempt by millimeters, as the attempted assassin's bullet ripped the upper part of his ear," Graham wrote to the FBI director, citing various briefings he received as a member of the House Judiciary and Homeland Security committees, as reported by Fox News.

"Therefore, I urge you to immediately correct your statement and acknowledge that President Trump was hit by a bullet rather than glass or shrapnel," Graham said. "As head of the FBI, you should not be creating confusion about such matters, as it further undercuts the agency's credibility with millions of Americans."

President Trump went after Wray, whom he appointed in 2017, on Truth Social, explaining that his lack of clarity during the congressional hearing will contribute to Americans losing confidence in the law enforcement agency. "FBI Director Christopher Wray told Congress yesterday that he wasn't sure if I was hit by shrapnel, glass, or a bullet (the FBI never even checked!), but he was sure that Crooked Joe Biden was physically and cognitively 'uneventful' - Wrong!" Trump wrote. "That's why he knows nothing about the terrorists and other criminals pouring into our Country at record levels."

"His only focus is destroying J6 Patriots, Raiding Mar-a-Lago, and saving Radical Left Lunatics, like the ones now in D.C. burning American flags and spray painting over our great National Monuments - with zero retribution. No, it was, unfortunately, a bullet that hit my ear, and hit it hard," the 45th president continued. "There was no glass, there was no shrapnel. The hospital called it a 'bullet wound to the ear,' and that is what it was. No wonder the once storied FBI has lost the confidence of America!"

Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (R-LA) also criticized Wray's testimony, saying, "We've all seen the video, we've seen the analysis, we've heard it from multiple sources on different angles that a bullet went through his ear. I'm not sure it matters that much."

President Trump was grazed by an assassin's bullet on July 13 during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. The gunman, Thomas Crooks, fired eight bullets at the Republican nominee, leading to the death of one supporter, Corey Comperatore, and the serious wounding of two others.
