'She Will Win': Kari Lake Reportedly Preparing For U.S. Senate Run - GOP Primary Polling Shows Dramatic Lead

Arizona's Republican gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake is reportedly making preparations to run for U.S. Senate, opposing incumbent Democrat-turned-Independant Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (I-AZ) and Democrat Congressman Ruben Gallego (D-AZ).

According to Axios, Lake is building a campaign staff for the upcoming Senate campaign in "anticipation of an October launch." The outlet, citing "a source familiar," claimed that the former newscaster and ardent America First Republican will spend much of September interviewing potential staffers and vetting campaign consultants.

In recent weeks, Lake has stepped up appearances at events hosted by 45th President Donald Trump as well as events in Iowa. She has also traveled across the country to support other prominent senatorial campaigns and causes.

"When President Trump gets back in the White House he's going to need fighters like Kari Lake in Washington, DC to help enact his Agenda 47," Caroline Wren, one of Lake's senior advisors, told Axios.

"Kari Lake is seriously considering a run for the United States Senate and will be making a final decision this fall."

Through her ongoing legal battles following the disputed outcome of the Arizona 2022 gubernatorial election as well as her vocal support of Trump, Lake has quickly gained national prominence and recognition among America-First or 'MAGA-Republicans.'

Notably, during a Monday fundraiser with Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) and Senate hopeful Bernie Moreno (R-OH), Lake said, "I'm really, really excited about [Sen. J.D. Vance], I'm super excited that Bernie Moreno's going to be in the Senate. And if they're in the Senate, I just might have to join them."

According to a recent Emerson Poll, Lake leads the prospective 2024 GOP Senate primary authoritatively with a 31-point lead over the next possible challenger Pinal County Sheriff Mark Lamb. With a seemingly pre-ordained primary and a likely split in the Democrat vote caused by Sinema running against Gallego, the election-day calculus would seem to favor Lake.

Gallego is making a strong appeal to his party's most radical base, cozying up to President Joe Biden and even greeting him when he landed at Grand Canyon National Park Airport on Monday. Axios reports that Gallego outraised Sinema over the last three months, indicating a firm backing from the Arizona Democratic Party. But that isn't what put Sinema in office.

Sinema despite being a former-Green party ASU neo-socialist fond of bombastic appearances in hot pink, managed to run as a 'moderate' in a deep red state in sectors that once favored Sen. John McCain who frequently bucked the rest of the GOP. In recent years Sinema has emulated this in her pushback against the Democrat majority alongside Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV).

Gallego is racing to capture the far-left that Sinema enraged and will likely miss the more centrist Democrats and left-leaning independents that make up her base. Meanwhile, Lake has garnered mass appeal with the largely pro-Trump Arizona GOP.

With both Sinema and Manchin's split from the DNC putting Arizona and West Virginia in play for 2024, the Democrat majority in the upper house of Congress is in serious danger. According to CNN, eight of the ten seats likely to flip are Democrat (or for Sinema, independently) held, and the two Republicans: Sens. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Rick Scott (R-FL) seem unlikely to falter in their deep red states with massive war chests.

Colton Duncan, a political consultant formerly of Arsenal Media Group, told DC Enquirer,

"I have never met anyone with more tenacity and grit than Kari Lake. I know for a fact that she is staying in this fight, and if that fight takes her into the U.S. Senate race, which seems very likely, she will win."
