'How Could Someone Be So Heartless': Gold Star Mother Recounts Biden's Chilling Lie After Her Son Returned Home In A Coffin

An event in Escondido, California hosted by Mayor Dane White and Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) provided a venue for Gold Star family members of the 13 servicemen and women lost during the botched withdrawal from Afghanistan to voice their anger at President Joe Biden for the military catastrophe. One mother told a shocking story of an absolutely galling lie told by Biden, straight to the grieving mother's face.

As reported by Fox News and posted to X App by Breaking911, Cheryl Rex, mother of Lance Cpl. Dylan Merola told the gathering "When [Biden] approached me, his words to me were, 'My wife, Jill & I, know how you feel. We lost our son as well and brought him home in a flag-draped coffin.'"

She continued, "My heart started beating faster & I started shaking, knowing that their son died from cancer & they were able to be by his side."

"How could someone be so heartless to say he knew how I felt."

According to The Daily Wire, Rep. Issa introduced the event known as "the Afghanistan Gold Star Families Public Forum." He told the families while they officially had five minutes set aside for each person to speak, no one would be enforcing that rule as long as they had words to share.

He told all gathered that the end goal of the forum was to ensure that there would be no repeat of the disastrously bungled withdrawal of U.S. forces from Kabul by the Biden White House.

Staff Sergeant Taylor Hoover's mother said directly that the blame for her son's death lies with Biden, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs Mark Milley, Secretary of State Antony Blinken, and other officials. She called them “Incompetent, cowards, evil.”

Taylor's father told the forum, “This didn’t need to happen in the matter that it did.”

“They made a conscious decision that made a chaotic and frantic withdrawal from Afghanistan," he said.

Rex told everyone at the forum, “If they had closed the gate, my son would be alive today,” referring to the Abbey gate of Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul, kept open by Pentagon despite actionable intelligence that an attack was imminent.

Alicia Lopez, mother of Hunter Lopez said, “I have no illusion” that anyone will be prosecuted or punished for “lying to all our Gold Star families.” She added, “This outcome is sad, but it’s what we’ve come to expect from a system that holds secrets for decades.”

“We do not want a partial truth or truth told in a book release…as Americans, we want this truth," Lopez continued, adding, "As Gold Star families, we deserve this truth. We deserved it two years ago, and we deserve it today.”
