On Saturday at a Los Angeles Community event, a heavily armed man pretended to be a part of presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s (D) security force, raising concerns about a potential assassination attempt being made against the Kennedy.
RFK shared the details on X/Twitter, informing people about the experience that he and his team went through.
“I’m very grateful that alert and fast-acting protectors from Gavin de Becker and Associates (GDBA) spotted and detained an armed man who attempted to approach me at my Hispanic Heritage speech at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre in Los Angeles tonight,” the tweet read. “The man, wearing two shoulder holsters with loaded pistols and spare ammunition magazines was carrying a U.S. Marshal badge on a lanyard and beltclip federal ID. He identified himself as a member of my security detail. Armed GDBA team members moved quickly to isolate and detain the man until LAPD arrived to make the arrest. I’m also grateful to LAPD for its rapid response.”

“I’m still entertaining a hope that President Biden will allow me Secret Service protection. I am the first presidential candidate in history to whom the White House has denied a request for protection,” he concluded.
Per Breitbart News, the man was discovered to be carrying a handgun with ammunition and will likely be facing charges of impersonating an officer or federal agent and potentially unlawful possession of a firearm. No official charges have been announced yet.
Kennedy was denied Secret Service protection by the Biden administration back in late July, complaining how it took 88 days for a response just to be denied, per the DC Enquirer. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas was the one who denied him, saying that they believe the protection “is not warranted at this time.”
The Democrat comes from a unique place as both his father and uncle were victims of political assassinations, his father being the very reason that presidential candidates are now afforded Secret Service protection. In many ways, the denial by the Biden administration is a denial to allow a proper run for president by Kennedy.
They have not agreed to any debates, they are not awarding RFK the proper protection as a presidential candidate, and they are doing everything within their power to ensure Biden is seen as the only option for Democrats in 2024.
