On Saturday, the monarch of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, King Charles III, was officially coronated to take the throne of the United Kingdom and lead the Church of England. In response to this, 45th President Donald Trump issues multiple statements wishing the King and the Queen consort the best of wishes.
"Good Luck and Best Wishes to the wonderful new King and Queen of The United Kingdom," Trump wrote on Truth Social. "You are two very Special People. May your Reign be a Long and Glorious One. GOD BLESS YOU BOTH!!!"
Charles became the monarch of the United Kingdom after his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, died last year on September 8, 2022.
Famously, President Trump had a rewarding relationship with the late monarch, espousing in a recent interview that they "had a great relationship together," as previously reported by the DC Enquirer.
“It was so great. I got to know her very well. I got to know her in her 90s but she was great. This is a woman that’s 75 years she reigns or more. And she never made a mistake. Now she had some difficulties with family members but that’s it. She never made a mistake,” Trump said.
“He’s a very nice guy too, I got to know him too, Charles. But she never, think of it, years,” he added.
In addition to wishing King Charles luck during his reign, Trump also took a shot at his main political opponent across the pond: President Joe Biden.
"Joe Biden should have been at the Coronation of King Charles III," Trump wrote. "Is that really so much to ask? The people of the U.K. are greatly insulted. No wonder we are losing support all over the World. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!"
It is clear that President Trump wishes to kindle a positive relationship with the new monarch, particularly given his success in connecting with Queen Elizabeth II.
