WATCH: FBI Director Christopher Wray SLAMMED By Lawmakers For FBI's Censorship Efforts

Rep. Mike Johnson (R-LA) lit up FBI Director Christopher Wray in the House Judiciary hearing centered on the numerous mishandling of the department over a multitude of different issues from colluding with social media websites to suppress information to covering up for Hunter Biden on his numerous scandals.

Representative Johnson specifically questioned Wray on the FBI’s suppression of conservative voices on social media, especially relating to the 2020 election results and COVID-19. Both topics have been a strong discussion for right-leaning Americans but were completely shut down on social media sites discussing them.

“The evidence shows you, your agency, the people who directly report to you, suppressed conservative-leaning free speech about topics like laptops, the lab leak theory of COVID-19’s origin, the effectiveness of masks and COVID-19 lockdowns and vaccines, speech about election integrity in the 2020 presidential election, security of voting by mail– even parody about the president himself, negative posts about the economy,” the Lousiana congressman said. “The FBI made the social media platforms pull that information off the internet if it came from conservative sources. They did this under the guise that it was disinformation, can you define what disinformation is?”

Wray immediately attempted to dodge the question, claiming that the FBI’s focus was not “on disinformation broadly speaking,” but Johnson did not let the director avoid properly answering the question. He reminded Director Wray that a key witness had informed Congress that the FBI had suppression of conservative ideas “on the basis of disinformation.” He once again asked Wray to properly explain what disinformation is to the FBI.

Once again, Wray danced around the question, saying the focus was on “malign, foreign disinformation.” The director attempted to talk about how foreign actors “abuse our social media platforms” to push dangerous ideas.

Without fail, Rep. Johnson once again did not let Wray ramble on without properly answering the question. He spoke about a court hearing where it was found that 50 percent of discussion on a rigged election was taken down, noting that not all of those were foreign agents, but instead, at least some being American citizens.

Unsurprisingly, the FBI director still attempted to dodge the question, claiming the information was incorrect despite it being a court opinion. He then made the utterly false statement that “the FBI is not in the business of moderating content or causing any social media to suppress or censor.” He also attempted to say that because the FBI was the only Justice Department agency to reach the assessment that the lab leak theory could have been true, that means that they were innocent in suppressing the information.

Wray has made it clear he has no intent to properly inform the American people of the inner workings of the FBI nor answer the questions asked by members of Congress. When there are people who have testified under oath that the FBI is doing what Wray is being asked about and he still denies it, it ranges anywhere from complete incompetence from the director to intentionally pushing lies to defend his agency. Either is unacceptable.
