On Monday, the 45th President arrived in grand fashion alongside his son, Eric Trump. As the pair stepped off Donald’s massive private jet, a precession of bagpipers began to play loudly in celebration. His arrival marks the first time he has been to Scotland since 2019. It was a long-awaited return that seemed fit for a King.
Trump stepped off his private jet directly onto the red carpet which had been pre-arranged for the reality tv star’s arrival. He happily smiled for his adoring photographers and even addressed several members of the media with short interviews.
This is routine for Trump, appearances are after all one of his greatest strengths. They also happen to be one of his presidential opponent Joe Biden’s clearest weaknesses. When representing his “America First” philosophy on any tour, it’s pivotal to his campaign that he is still the master showman who shook up the political world in 2016 and that world is his stage.
“Will be meeting with many wonderful friends, and cutting a ribbon for a new and spectacular second course in Aberdeen,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform. “Very exciting despite the fact that it is ‘make America great again’ that is on my mind, in fact, America will be greater than ever before.”
“It’s great to be home — this was the home of my mother,” Trump said. His late mother, Mary, was born on the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides before migrating to the United States.
Donald would later attend a ceremony at Menie to break ground for a second course at his resort, to be named the “MacLeod course”. It will be dedicated to his late mother Mary Anne MacLeod, who was from the Isle of Lewis. Trump himself has always been very proud of his late mother and honors her memory by celebrating his Scottish heritage. He now keeps his own immediate family in constant close proximity. This has always been an important aspect of Trump’s own life. He is never far from his own children now and even while at work on his own presidential campaign his son Eric was happy to come along.
On this day, another tightly knit family of their own were also busy at the Turnberry Resort. They were planning a high-profile event of their own, a wedding. One that would be coinciding with the President’s well-documented time at the same resort this week, the beautiful bride Janice Young and her dashing groom Stevie Leigh Gaskin. This would not just be any average wedding though but a massive affair, one with the sort of grandiose flair that the former president himself is well known for.
Elizabeth Hutchinson-Burnside and her daughter Janice, “the bride-to-be”, met later that day with Donald’s son Eric at the Turnberry Resort. The pair were elated to find just how polite and hospitable Eric Trump was. “I’ve heard all about the big wedding!” happily exclaimed Eric. How could it be that he had already received such information about the young bride’s big day? But Janice did happen to have a family relative who may have tipped off a member or two of Trump’s own entourage.
Perhaps now with the President's unplanned appearance, this event was going to turn out to be even bigger than the mother and daughter had originally anticipated.
Almost all Trump Resort properties are often regarded as “the Best of the Best''. Total opulence would be bestowed upon the guests in attendance. But as is often the case with such events like a wedding, even in the final hour there are still some minor details to sort out. Like for one, who would now be staying in the Turnberry sought-after “Presidential Suite”? Typically, this sort of prestigious accommodation would be reserved for the bride on her big day. But with the resort's owner/former President himself in town, the chance of that seemed abysmal, at best.
“There she is!” said a voice unseen. An entourage had quickly descended upon the lobby. Before the mother and daughter could hardly prepare themselves a slew of security agents had cleared a path, and a man was being escorted through the opulent Turnberry lobby. A room so wonderful it just smelled of sophistication. It was decorated to welcome guests from all over whom are often known for their great wealth or aristocracy.
But here this particular guest now being ushered in seemed a little more normal, or perhaps just “down to earth”. No suit, not even a tie in sight. He seems to be dressed comfortably, yet neatly and well put together casual golf attire- it even looked as though he had just in fact enjoyed a round of golf. All present in the lobby were also so intrigued. As the crowd of security came towards them a man emerged, he looked right into the mother and daughter's eyes and who it was but actually the 45th U.S. President himself, Donald J. Trump!
He adjusted his red “Make America Great Again” ball cap to better reveal his face.
“I have heard all about her and this big wedding!” Perhaps it seemed as though he was somehow already expecting to see her.
He charmed Elizabeth, the mother of the blushing bride, and asserted just how beautiful her young lady to-be-wed really was. He was happy to have them with him and hoped they would enjoy his home away from home. Little did they know Trump, the ever-ready businessman, had a negotiation already prepared and was about to make them an offer. “I hear they’ve got you in my suite!” He said.
A quote from The New York Times Best Seller, “The Art of The Deal” by Donald J. Trump: “Deals work best when each side gets something it wants from the other!”
The bride would have liked the “suite” but meeting the Don was well, so much sweeter!
But, Don the master negotiator provided an even better arrangement. He was simply being coy mentioning the suite, the terms were clear. There was no catch - this so-coveted suite would be all hers for the duration of her stay. Only under the one condition of course, that she and her groom enjoy their big day. Leave it to Trump to sweep the bride off her feet. Now that’s what you call, “The Art Of The Deal.”
(Trump would later even manage to make time to offer his well wishes to the cheerful young groom, Stevie Leigh Gaskin.)
Besides his grand gesture of hospitality, he wanted to be sure there wasn’t anything else he could do to make sure they enjoyed their stay. “Is everything else good though? Great. If you need anything else, Just let me know please, ok?" said Trump.
Now that he mentioned it of course there was just one last thing, Janice thought. She politely asked if she could take a photograph of her and her new friend. “Of course!” The confident and never camera-shy Donald happily obliged.
At Turnberry, Donald J. Trump is for sure the King of his Castle, but he also knows, from his experience as a great leader, how to display his strength but of equal importance knows how to express his love and appreciation to deserving people as well. Perhaps this was learned after having spent so much of his life around the resort & hospitality business. Trump was a very successful developer long before his time as a prime-time television star on his hit show “The Apprentice”. Now as a politician, “The Don” still maintains the attitude of that in His House: the best goes to his guests! Maybe this is one of the reasons why the former President is so thoughtful in concerning himself for the overall well-being of his fellow American people.
“This wedding is really gonna be something,” the former president was quoted saying while personally reviewing the ballroom and settings for the upcoming wedding of Leigh and Janice Gaskin. Donald was seen posing in the bride and grooms would be “thrones”, alongside Nigel Farage of the GBNews Network.
The next day, Donald Trump was right back at it and in full-swing work mode. Somehow even with the countless calls for his attention that will come throughout a day in his life, He took the personal initiative to spare his expertise on something he had on his mind while conducting a tour and interview with Nigel Farage of the GBNews Network. He made sure himself that the young lady he had met would be getting her long-anticipated fairytale wedding. So he took a quick look in the ballroom where the wedding-to-be would soon take place. Donald is known to have a very sophisticated pallet for luxury, but even he was impressed.
“Wow, This is really cool! Let’s take a photo here,” said the former President cheerfully to his guest Nigel. They sat for a photo in what would later be the bride and groom’s unofficial “Thrones”. The venue boasted stunning views, floor to ceiling windows which showcased the rolling greens of the Scottish countryside. Glamorous, bright golden-clad decor, and furnishings paired with the many over-the-top crystal chandeliers of which Trump properties have become so synonymous.

He had seen for himself, things had been prepared very well for Mr. and Mrs. Gaskin. He was pleased. Personally looking after something as important to a bride and groom as their wedding is another testament to Donald’s great character, but for him, it was just another day at the office. He happened to have several other engagements on the agenda for the day as well, so sadly it was time to go. There would be no time to waste as he had another important task to tend to for the day, Save America!
