'Adoption Is Fantastic': Donald Trump Vows To Incentivize Adoption To Save Lives From Abortion, Doubles Down On Pro-Life Stance

On Monday, former President Donald Trump said that his efforts in changing the political landscape of the Supreme Court were the deciding factor in overturning Roe v. Wade and giving pro-life activists “the upper hand” in working to protect unborn life. He also stated that if he made his return to the White House, he would make efforts to reduce abortion by providing adoption incentives.

“I think it's very important that if I win, and I hope I'm going to win, we're winning by a lot right now, we'll be pressing the adoption option,” the New York City businessman stated in an interview with Just The News

Trump recently discussed the overturning of Roe v. Wade in his CNN Town Hall, where he called the recent decision handed out by the Supreme Court “a great victory,” per the DC Enquirer.

"I did something that nobody else in 52 years was able to do. I got rid of Roe v. Wade," the Big Apple native said. "...But what it really did is it gave pro-life people the right to negotiate and a tremendous power to negotiate. Before they had no chance of doing anything. You could kill a baby after nine months in the womb, you could kill a baby after birth."

"Before they (pro-life activists) had no power in negotiation. Now, the pro-life group actually has the upper hand, and they can negotiate something that will be very fair, and very good," he added.

Trump has made it clear that he doesn’t believe in flat abortion bans, with having exceptions being an important part of regulating the practice.

“I'm a person who feels that the exceptions are very important for a lot of reasons. But they're also important from the standpoint of an election,” the former president said. "...If you don't have the exceptions, it's very, very hard. I think that's been proven. It's very, very hard to win an election."

“Now, I don't say you do it for that. You do it for other reasons, moral reasons," he clarified. "You do it for what you really believe. But it still is a very, very difficult thing to overcome, I would say from the standpoint of an election."

The former president discussed the possible incentives to increase adoptions, saying that he and his team have done a lot of brainstorming on potential policy and legislation. A notable idea was tax breaks, according to Trump, who believes it can incentivize both the birth mother and the prospective adoptive parents in the situation.

"I think the incentive is great. And I think the concept of adoption is fantastic," he happily discussed. "And it could go a long way. And it's something that I would be supportive of, very supportive of. And we'd get that done. I don't even think that would be a very difficult thing to get done."

Trump has definitely been a major player in the fight for unborn life, and the former president has made it clear that the fight doesn’t end with the overturning of Roe v. Wade. There’s a lot to look forward to from his potential policy, and more importantly, a lot of lives to be saved.
