The Department of Homeland Security announced that it has added an additional 5,000 criminal illegal aliens to its public "Worst of the Worst" database, bringing the total number of offenders listed to more than 35,000 nationwide.
The online database, launched in December 2025, allows Americans to search records of criminal illegal aliens arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement across all 50 states. According to DHS officials, the database is designed to provide greater transparency about immigration enforcement operations and the criminal backgrounds of individuals taken into custody.
Acting Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis said the expansion reflects the Trump administration's commitment to keeping Americans informed about threats that have existed within their own communities.
According to DHS, many of those listed in the database have been charged with or convicted of serious crimes, including homicide, rape, child sex offenses, gang-related crimes, aggravated assault, drug offenses, arson, hit-and-run incidents, and driving under the influence.
The announcement comes as President Donald Trump's immigration policies continue to face fierce opposition from activists and progressive politicians. Demonstrations against ICE operations have intensified in several cities, including Newark, New Jersey, where protesters have targeted federal immigration enforcement efforts.
Meanwhile, DHS officials warn that anti-ICE rhetoric has contributed to a dramatic rise in threats against federal agents. According to the department, assaults against ICE officers have increased by more than 1,300 percent, while death threats have reportedly surged by over 8,000 percent.
Supporters of the administration argue that immigration enforcement officers are carrying out one of the federal government's most important responsibilities: protecting American communities from dangerous criminals who entered or remained in the country illegally.
While critics continue to accuse ICE of being too aggressive, administration officials point to the growing database as evidence of the serious criminal activity many of those arrested are accused of committing. They argue that the public deserves access to this information and should be able to see firsthand the types of offenders being removed from neighborhoods across the country.
The expansion of the database is part of a broader effort by the Trump administration to increase transparency surrounding immigration enforcement while highlighting the role federal agents play in protecting public safety. Officials say the mission remains focused on identifying, arresting, and removing dangerous criminal offenders who pose a threat to American citizens.
