'Put On The Full Armor Of God': DeSantis Vows To Protect Faith, Family And Fight Against 'Woke' Agenda

On Monday night, Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL) made vows at the opening session of the National Religious Broadcasters International Christian Media Convention to continue fighting against the woke agendas pushed by the left and making decisions that fight for the rights of families and faith.

The vows from DeSantis may mean more to the average American as it’s been reported that he will be making his 2024 presidential announcement on Wednesday evening.

DeSantis began his speech by sharing a personal story about a bottle of holy water that his wife got from the Sea of Galilee during one of their visits to Israel, per Fox News. "My first job as governor, after getting sworn in on the steps of the Capitol, was to go back to the governor's residence … to get our son Mason baptized," the Sunshine State leader said.

DeSantis said they once lost the bottle of holy water during a house cleaning, but that “within 24 hours there were people in Israel digging into the Sea of Galilee, and they sent me this beautiful glass jar filled with water from the Sea of Galilee.”

After making it clear how important his faith was to him, the governor began tackling social issues that come from going against Christian values.

"We're working with groups that are addressing the needs of the father and trying to get them engaged with their kids," DeSantis said, talking about the importance of having a father in the home. "Even if you have the kids that are born of a father in prison, we are using these resources to foster mentorship opportunities for kids that do not have that [type of support]."

DeSantis then began tackling the different ways that the government was being weaponized against conservatives and Christians. “And they are now in the FBI saying observant Catholics represent some type of threat to society,” the Florida governor said. “We have a government targeting parents going to school board meetings. They will target pro-life activists.”

“Make no mistake, weaponized government is one faction of society turning the reins of power against those people they don't like,” DeSantis added. “And the people that are in power now do not like people of faith."

"Put on the full armor of God," DeSantis said at the end of his comments, adding, "and don’t ever, ever back down."

DeSantis makes it very clear the importance of faith to him as a government official, as well as how the leftist government is trying to fight against those who openly practice their faith. Christians pose a great threat to the leftist agenda, as so much of left-leaning ideology is antithetical to Christian beliefs.
