Climate Radical Greta Thunberg SLAMMED After 'Anti-Semitic' Post Goes Viral - She 'Knew What She Was Doing'

On Friday, climate radical Greta Thunberg, who in recent months has been making a name for herself after being arrested time and time again at climate protests, once again landed in hot water after she made a pro-Palestine post that many users pointed out included an anti-Semitic trope.

In a now-deleted Instagram post, the 20-year-old activist wrote, "Today we are striking in solidarity with Palestine and Gaza. The world needs to speak up and call for an immediate ceasefire, justice and freedom for Palestinians and all civilians affected." In the photo, she and a number of her friends can be seen holding signs that read "Stand With Gaza," "Free Palestine," and "This Jew Stands With Palestine."

While many online criticized her for failing to post about the October 7th attack in southern Israel that led to the deaths of over 1,400 Israelis and 32 Americans, many more social media users pointed out a blue stuffed octopus in the image that is associated with an anti-Semitic trope.

In response to the backlash, Thunberg made another post apologizing for the mistake. "It has come to my knowledge that the stuffed animal shown in my earlier post can be interpreted as a symbol for antisemitism, which I was completely unaware of," she wrote. "The toy in the picture is a tool often used by autistic people as a way to communicate feelings. We are of course against any type of discrimination, and condemn antisemitism in all forms and shapes. This is non-negotiable. That is why I deleted the last post."

As reported by The Daily Mail, the Campaign Against Antisemitism blasted Thunberg's post, writing, "Greta Thunberg has a lot to say about a lot of things. But, judging by her social media output, expressing sympathy for the biggest massacre of Jews since the Holocaust does not appear to be among them."

"This post directs followers to a series of odious organisations, some fringe Jewish groups but all deeply hostile to the Jewish state. Ms Thunberg spends her life campaigning for greater awareness about the future of our planet," the group explained. "Given the organisations that she is signposting here, she might want to take a moment to reflect on what kind of human society will live on it."

While Thunberg could have very easily made a simple mistake, it is telling that she and her climate activist friends are willing to "stand with Palestine" following a deadly Hamas-led terrorist attack but had nothing to say about the massacre in southern Israel. The left-wing coalitional politics is coming into full muster as radical environmentalists stand alongside jihadists.
