WATCH: Byron Donalds Takes Biden's DOJ To Task - 'They Want To Bleed Donald Trump Dry'

On Sunday, Representative Byron Donalds (R-FL) slammed the Department of Justice for the unjust indictments against Donald Trump, claiming that the Biden administration is intentionally doing it so that the former president will have less money to use for campaigning in the 2024 election.

The Republican lawmaker certainly isn’t the only one slamming the Biden administration, with Mr. Trump himself claiming that the timing of the indictment was to cover up the firestorm of bad publicity surrounding Hunter Biden, per the DC Enquirer. Trump made the claim following his pleading not guilty to all the charges leveled against him by Special Counsel Jack Smith.

Donalds appeared on Fox News ‘Sunday Morning Futures’ where he made the claim. He held nothing back, stating that the Biden Department of Justice is “obstructing justice, especially when you look at how they were handling all these dealings with Hunter Biden.”

"But to a broader perspective, what the Department of Justice is really doing is they want to bleed Donald Trump dry. They want him to use up so many campaign resources with these terrible, phony indictments that it's going to be hard for him to mount a challenge to the presidency," Donalds explained.

Trump has seen a lot of money going into his campaign, with the indictments ironically boosting the cash flow into it. As previously covered by the DC Enquirer, back in July the Trump campaign was holding onto $21 million cash on hand, more than any other Republican candidate. All in all, the campaign for the former president currently has a total of $35 million.

"For the American people, understand what this means," Donalds said. "This means that the Democrat Party and Joe Biden are using the power of government to basically turn the screws on their political opponent.

"That is un-American. That is not what our country should be doing. So for all the accusations against Donald Trump through the years, Joe Biden is doing the thing that they were saying to the American people they were afraid of Donald Trump doing," the Florida congressman continued. "It is despicable."

Whether or not the indictment intended to come for the money of Trump or if it was simply a byproduct of the DOJ’s attempt to ensure the election goes the Democrat's way, what’s occurring within America is clearly unjust. The continued attacks on a former president are unprecedented and even more so when you consider that he is also a presidential candidate.
