The Republican frontrunner in the 2024 presidential election and 45th President of the United States of America Donald J. Trump is on his way to Washington, D.C. where he is to be placed under arrest as of Thursday morning.
Trump posted a brief set of messages to the Truth Social platform prior to boarding a plane to surrender himself to federal authorities.
First, he wrote, "Look, it’s not my fault that my political opponent in the Democrat Party, Crooked Joe Biden, has told his Attorney General to charge the leading (by far!) Republican Nominee & former President of the United States, me, with as many crimes as can be concocted so that he is forced to spend large amounts of time & money to defend himself. The Dems don’t want to run against me or they would not be doing this unprecedented weaponization of 'Justice.' BUT SOON, IN 2024, IT WILL BE OUR TURN. MAGA!"
He then followed with a briefer missive in a somewhat tongue-in-cheek manner alluding to his recent polling jumps following his previous indictments saying, "I NEED ONE MORE INDICTMENT TO ENSURE MY ELECTION!"
He followed up with a final message before departing for the nation's capital, writing, "I AM NOW GOING TO WASHINGTON, D.C., TO BE ARRESTED FOR HAVING CHALLENGED A CORRUPT, RIGGED, & STOLEN ELECTION. IT IS A GREAT HONOR, BECAUSE I AM BEING ARRESTED FOR YOU. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!"
Trump is expected to be arrested at 4 p.m. EST after surrendering himself to federal officers at the U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C. where banner-carrying supporters began to gather early in the morning.
