BREAKING: Ron DeSantis Drops Out Of Presidential Race Against Trump

On Sunday, Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) officially suspended his campaign for president after being defeated in the Iowa caucus by 45th President Donald Trump. DeSantis posted his announcement on X/Twitter, the same platform on which he launched his campaign back in May 2023. The Florida governor began his campaign with significant fanfare, but he was unable to live up to the expectations set for him by many of his supporters, only being able to get a little over 20 percent in the Iowa caucus. Given DeSantis' inability to unseat Trump as the Republican frontrunner, the 45-year-old executive decided to endorse him over former Gov. Nikki Haley (R-SC).

DeSantis' exit from the race is a welcome sign for 45th President Donald Trump, who is expected to defeat Haley by double digits in New Hampshire on Tuesday. As more candidates drop out of the race, the final showdown between Trump and Haley in New Hampshire could lead to the former UN ambassador dropping out of the race as well.
