BREAKING: Ron DeSantis Blasts Disney, Promises To Tear Down The Federal Bureaucracy, And Fight The Left On Education In Campaign Announcement Twitter Space

On Wednesday evening, Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL) launched his official campaign on Twitter Spaces with Elon Musk. Despite various initial crashes as hundreds of thousands attempted to join, Ron DeSantis officially announced.

One of the many topics covered during the discussion was how DeSantis would reign in the federal bureaucracy with Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) joining to ask the governor about the issue.

"Why is it that Congress is so feckless at reigning in these federal agencies? And what would you do?" Massie asked DeSantis.

"Buckle up when I get in there. We are going to make sure that we re-constitutionalize this government," he said, adding that power has been consolidated thus making the bureaucracy a fourth pillar of government.

DeSantis went on to explain that the bureaucracy abuses its power and that Congress needs to "actually legislate" so that the legislature can take back power from the executive branch.

The governor then moved on to address his fight against Disney saying that he wants "kids to be kids" and that the corporation ran Florida politics for many years prior to his actions.

"Florida put them on a pedestal many decades ago and joined the state with this one company at the hip," he said. "So we ended their self-governing status."

DeSantis then called other Republicans who sided with Disney as being "corporatists" and argued that Disney is the one continuing the fight by suing the state. "They want to be treated differently than Universal and Sea World and we won't allow that," the presidential candidate said.

The candidate then said that he made sure that Disney was open during Covid-19 thus allowing the company to make money. "We were a much better place to do business, certainly since I've been governor."

The Twitter Space then turned to education which has become a pressing issue for DeSantis during his governorship.

"The whole book ban thing is a hoax," DeSantis said, adding that he has empowered parents to see what books are being used in their child's school. He gave multiple examples of books that encourage sex acts and the use of sex toys.

"Nothing is being banned," DeSantis said, adding that he has eliminated Critical Race Theory in K-12 schools. "We won't be teaching people to hate our country but we will teach accurate history." He then added that Florida educators do teach slavery, racial discrimination, and the like.
