BREAKING: President Joe Biden Targets The Supreme Court In National Address Following Immunity Decision

On Monday, President Joe Biden addressed the nation following the Supreme Court decision in Trump v. United States that deemed that a president cannot be criminally prosecuted for "official acts" outlined in Article II taken while in office.

As previously reported by the DC Enquirer, the court ruled in a 6-3 decision along ideological lines that 45th President Donald Trump is partially immune from special counsel Jack Smith's prosecution. Trump was granted immunity for "official acts" while not being granted immunity for "unofficial acts." The court's decision is the first time the Supreme Court has ever considered whether a president can be held criminally liable for actions taken while in office.

In his address to the nation from the White House, President Biden said that the court is undermining the rule of law and that the court's decision is a "terrible disservice" to the nation. Biden then stated that the American people must decide whether 45th President Donald Trump deserves another term in office.

"Today's decision almost certainly means that there are virtually no limits on what a president can do," the president said. "This is a fundamentally new principle, and it's a dangerous precedent because the power of the office will no longer be constrained by the law, even including Supreme Court of the United States. The only limits will be self-imposed posed by the president alone."

Biden then stated that he has respected the power of the presidency for the past three years of his presidency despite repeatedly circumventing the Supreme Court to forgive student loans.

The 81-year-old Democrat then explained that he concurs with Justice Sonia Sotomayor's dissent that said that the majority's ruling could lead to the president ordering an assassination of a political opponent or launching a coup.
