BREAKING: Mitt Romney Makes MAJOR Announcement About His Political Future

On Wednesday, Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT) announced that he would not be seeking reelection in 2024.

Romney published a video on the X App where he made the announcement where he boasted about his accomplishments while in the Senate.

“I have spent my last 25 years in public service of one kind or another. At the end of another term, I’d be in my mid-eighties," Romney said in a statement. "Frankly, it’s time for a new generation of leaders. They’re the ones that need to make the decisions that will shape the world they will be living in."

Romney then took the opportunity to attack both Biden and Trump.

"Now we face critical challenges. Mounting national debt, climate change, and the ambitious authoritarians of Russia and China. Neither President Biden nor former President Trump are leading their party to confront those issues. On deficits and debt, both men refuse to address entitlements even though they know this represents two thirds of deficit spending," the Utah senator said.

As previously reported by the DC Enquirer, Romney was going to face a notable primary challenge from Riverton, Utah Mayor Trent Staggs, however, it may now be Stagg's race to win.

"I'm not a career politician or a Massachusetts millionaire. I'm a mayor, a businessman, husband, and father who wants his children to grow up with the same opportunities that I did," Mayor Staggs said in his campaign launch video. "I'm running for United States Senate to make sure that they do."
