On Wednesday, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (R-TX) joined host of 'Tucker on X' Tucker Carlson to discuss the attorney general's latest impeachment trial that engulfed the Lone Star State and drew attention from across the country.
As previously reported by the DC Enquirer, the Texas Senate reached its verdict on the 16 articles of impeachment on Saturday afternoon. Every Democrat and two Republicans voted in favor of the impeachment articles, however, they did not reach the threshold of 21 votes needed to convict Paxton.
Various state lawmakers and conservatives across the Lone Star State are calling upon Texas Speaker of the House Dade Phelan, who pushed for the impeachment in the House earlier this year, to resign from office.
"Today the truth prevailed," Paxton wrote in a statement. "The truth could not be buried by mudslinging politicians or their powerful benefactors. I've said many times: Seek the truth! And that is what was accomplished."
"Now that this shameful process is over, my work to defend our constitutional rights will resume. Thank you to everyone who has stood with us during this time," he added. "I will address the nation and Texas on Tucker Carlson next week. Now it is back to work!"
