On Monday, U.S. Special Counsel John Durham released his final report of his investigation into the FBI probe, Crossfire Hurricane, into Donald Trump for suspected collusion with the Russian Federation in the 2016 presidential election.
The over 300-page report finally exonerated President Trump with Durham writing, "Neither U.S. law enforcement nor the Intelligence Community appears to have possessed any actual evidence of collusion in their holdings at the commencement of the Crossfire Hurricane investigation."
According to Just The News, the report argues that the FBI and the Justice Department were at fault for letting the probe into President Trump continue without following proper procedure and protocol such as the use of a FISA warrant to spy on an American citizen.
"Based on the review of Crossfire Hurricane and related intelligence activities, we concluded the Department and the FBI failed to uphold their important mission of strict fidelity to the law in connection with certain events and activities described in this report," the report explains.
"The FBI personnel also repeatedly disregarded important requirements when they continued to seek renewals of that FISA surveillance while acknowledging -- both then and in hindsight -- that they did not genuinely believe there was probably cause to believe that the target was knowingly engaged in clandestine intelligence activities on behalf of foreign power," Durham emphasized.
Despite Durham concluding that the FBI and Justice Department should have never launched the investigation into President Trump, he did not announce any charges against those involved.
