BREAKING: Joe Biden Says It's 'Dangerous' To Say Trump Trial Was 'Rigged'

On Friday, President Joe Biden held a press conference at the White House focused on the current situation in the Middle East but took time at the beginning of his remarks to address the American people about the conviction of his main political rival, Donald Trump. Biden, who has been trailing Trump in multiple swing state polls for months, argued that the verdict shows that "no one is above the law."

"I just want to say a few words about what happened yesterday in New York City," Biden began. "The American principle that no one is above the law was reaffirmed. Donald Trump was given every opportunity to defend himself. It was a state case, not a federal case, and it was heard by a jury of 12 citizens, 12 Americans, and 12 people like you."

"Like millions of Americans who served on juries, this jury was chosen the same way that every jury in America was chosen. It was a process that Donald Trump's attorney was a part of. The jury heard five weeks of evidence, five weeks, and after careful deliberation, the jury reached a unanimous verdict. They found Donald Trump guilty on all 34 felony counts," he continued. "Now he will be given the opportunity as he should to appeal that decision just like everyone else has that opportunity. That's how the American system of justice works."

"And it's reckless, it's dangerous, and it's irresponsible for anyone to say this is rigged just because they don't like the verdict," the 81-year-old Democrat claimed. "Our justice system has endured for nearly 250 years, and it literally is the cornerstone of America. The justice system should be respected, and we should never allow anyone to tear it down. It's as simple as that. That's America. That's who we are, and that's who we will always be, God willing."

As previously reported by the DC Enquirer, Trump was found guilty on each of the 34 counts of falsifying business records by the Manhattan jury on Thursday. Following the conviction, the Biden campaign released a statement, urging Americans to vote for Biden in November to beat the presumptive GOP nominee at the ballot box.

"In New York today, we saw that no one is above the law," Biden-Harris 2024 Communications Director Michael Tyler said in a statement. "Donald Trump has always mistakenly believed he would never face consequences for breaking the law for his own personal gain. But today's verdict does not change the fact that the American people face a simple reality. There is still only one way to keep Donald Trump out of the Oval Office: at the ballot box. Convicted felon or not, Trump will be the Republican nominee for president."
