BREAKING: House Votes Overwhelmingly To Advance $95 Billion Foreign Aid Bill

On Friday, the House of Representatives overwhelmingly advanced the $95 billion foreign aid package brought to the floor by Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA). The bill, which includes $61 billion for Ukraine, $26 billion for Israel, $8 billion for Indo-Pacific, and significant amounts for humanitarian assistance to Gaza, will now be broken down for separate votes for each nation.

The House's vote to consider the package was 316 in favor and 94 against, with 165 Democrats and 151 Republicans voting in support of advancing the bill. The legislation, which is nearly identical to Sen. Chuck Schumer's (D-NY) foreign aid package that was passed through the Senate, has faced considerable backlash from members of the House Freedom Caucus.

"Yet again, GOP leadership pushes through an [America Last] agenda with more Democrats than Republicans," Rep. Eli Crane (R-AZ) wrote about the bill's advancement. Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) also spoke out against the bill, writing, "The new order. No border security - more debt - more war without a mission and paying for it."

The Republican representatives who voted 'no' on advancing the legislation include, Reps. Alford, Baird, Banks, Biggs, Bishop, Boebert, Brecheen, Burchett, Burlison, Cline, Cloud, Clyde, Collins, Crane, Davidson, DesJarlais, Donalds, Duncan, Fulcher, Gaetz, Good, Gooden, Gosar, Green, Griffith, Hageman, Harshbarger, Higgins, LaMalfa, Lesko, Luna, Mace, Malliotakis, Mann, Massie, McCormick, Miller, Mills, Moore, Nehls, Norman, Ogles, Perry, Posey, Rose, Rosendale, Roy, Self, Spartz, Steube, Tiffany, Timmons, Waltz, and Webster.
