BREAKING: Former Trump Advisor Convicted On Charges After Defying January 6th Committee - 'This Is Especially Insane Weaponization'

On Thursday, former Trade Advisor to President Donald Trump, Peter Navarro, was convicted on two counts of Contempt of Congress for defying subpoenas from the Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol.

The jury in the case returned a unanimous conviction after four hours of deliberation following a two day trial that contained testimony from three former January 6th committee staffers.

Each one of the counts carries a one-year maximum sentence, however, Navarro plans to appeal the verdict.

Navarro has claimed that Trump told him to the defy the committee's subpoena and instead assert executive privelege. However, U.S. District Court Judge Amit Mehta did not find his arguments credible that a former advisor would allow him to not comply with a congressional subpoena.

"This is especially insane weaponization of the Biden DOJ given what we have learned about the number of lies the J6 committee told and the records they destroyed," Greg Price wrote about the conviction.
