On Monday night, Tucker Carlson showed his millions of viewers a recent interview he conducted with billionaire Elon Musk. Amongst the most pressing topics was the role of the media on Twitter and how they push less truthful news.
Musk explained that current media is pushing negative news in order to get more attention and clicks, explaining that there is an asymmetry between negative and positive content.
He went on to explain that in history you normally wouldn’t hear about negative aspects in other places in the world but now the news is centered around knowing the worst of what is taking place in the world on any given day.

Musk emphasized that he has fired 80 percent of his workforce when he first acquired Twitter, saying that it used to be a glorified activist organization that censored individuals.
He said that Twitter was “extremely overstaffed” and that you really don’t need many people to run the site.
“It took a year to add an edit button that doesn’t work most of the time. I feel like it’s a comedy situation here,” Musk said about Twitter’s prior inefficiency.
He added that the responsiveness of the system has increased tremendously and he is attempting to make it the “least untrustworthy place on the internet.”
