Chuck Todd, the longtime host of NBC's 'Meet the Press', will be stepping away from being the headliner after nine years on air, and over 15 years at NBC, in order to focus on his family and other projects at the network, according to an announcement released Sunday.
At the conclusion of his show on Sunday, Todd explained that he would be leaving NBC at the end of the summer.
"While today is not my final show, this will be my final summer here at Meet the Press," Todd said. "I am really proud of what this team and I have built over the last decade."
The NBC host went on to explain that 'Meet the Press' has been able to expand to multiple podcasts and other programming over the years that he has overseen the show.
Todd joins a host of other long time news hosts who have decided to leave their networks in recent months. In April, former Fox News host Tucker Carlson was ousted from the network and Dan Bongino did not renew his contract with the Fox Corporation.
