On Friday, Hollywood actor Alec Baldwin was indicted by a grand jury in New Mexico for involuntary manslaughter after the death of a cinematographer on the set of the film 'Rust.' The charge against Baldwin carries a sentence of 18 months in prison.
As previously reported by the DC Enquirer, the Hollywood actor shot and killed Halyna Hutchins in October 2021 while filming the western film in New Mexico. Baldwin, who was given a weapon that was accidentally loaded, was practicing a scene when the weapon fired. He has claimed that he did not pull the trigger.
In an NBC interview in late 2021, Baldwin claimed that, "I would never point a gun at anyone and pull the trigger at them, never. Someone put a live bullet in a gun, a bullet that wasn't even supposed to be on the property. Baldwin was initially charged with two counts of involuntary manslaughter by the New Mexico district attorney after Baldwin shot Hutchins in October 2021. However, those charges were later dropped.
