Biden Giving Out $300 Million To Allow Migrants To Enroll In Obamacare

On Friday, President Joe Biden finalized a new policy that would give roughly 100,000 illegal immigrants who fall under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program health insurance coverage under Obamacare. The Obama-era DACA program is made up of migrants who entered the country illegally as children.

DACA recipients were previously allowed to buy health plans, but Biden's new proposal, changing the definition of "lawfully present" to include DACA recipients, gives the migrants access to taxpayer funds to assist in purchasing a health care plan, with the total cost of the change expected to be around $300 million a year.

The policy, set to take effect on November 1, was initially opposed by the Obama administration in 2012. However, President Biden, undeterred by this, has decided to extend health insurance coverage to DACA recipients. As reported by The Washington Times, Biden stated, 'Dreamers are our loved ones, our nurses, teachers and small business owners. And they deserve the promise of health care just like all of us.'

Republicans have already begun speaking out against the move, with Rep. Brian Mast (R-FL) writing on X, "Joe Biden just expanded Obamacare to cover 100,000 ILLEGAL aliens. Meanwhile, the brave men and women who served this country are struggling to get the care they earned and deserve."

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) applauded the move, however, saying in a statement, "I applaud President Biden for this highly impactful policy change that lives up to the greatest ideals of America and will improve the lives of so many Dreamers. Since its beginning, DACA has endured because the American people understand that DACA recipients are Americans in every sense of the word. Over the last 12 years, Democrats have fought to protect Dreamers and secure their access to affordable health care in the only country they call home."

As President Biden continues to struggle to win over voters ahead of the general election, he will continue to unilaterally use taxpayer money to bribe his way to reelection. Whether it's making hundreds of millions of dollars available for DACA recipients or forgiving billions in student loan debt, the president will stop at nothing to ensure that he can shore up support for his failing campaign.
