Armed Homeowner Opens Fire To Defend Family From Alleged Intruder Who Broke Down Door

On Monday, an alleged home invader was sent to the hospital by an armed homeowner in Blair, Wisconsin, after the alleged intruder attempted to kick down the door of the Wisconsin home.

Police Chief Kent Johnson told News 8 that his officers received a call around 1 a.m. on Monday from the wife of the armed homeowner. During the phone call, the wife explained that a man attempted to break into her home, which led to her husband taking action and using his firearm.

Police responded to the scene and found the suspect lying injured in the garage as well as a kicked-in door, as described in the 911 call, as reported by WQOW. Authorities revealed that the alleged home invader had broken into another home in the area earlier in the night.

Following the shooting, the suspect was taken via ambulance to the Gundersen Tri-County Hospital before being transferred to Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse. As of this report, the incident is still under investigation.

The homeowner's actions likely stopped other residents in the area from being burglarized or potentially even hurt. The homeowner's ability to exercise his Second Amendment right allowed him to defend his family from danger. It is just one example of what happens every day across America when an armed individual defends themselves with a firearm.
