The Supreme Court is back again with more opinions on essential cases. While nothing can beat the overturning of Roe V. Wade, the Kennedy v. Bremerton School District case comes close. On Monday, the ruling was released in favor of Highschool football coach Joe Kennedy, who was fired from his job for praying on the field after football games.
First Liberty Institute is dedicated to protecting religious liberty throughout the nation and fighting cases in the courts. Naturally, First Liberty picked Coach Kennedy’s case. According to First Liberty, the institution “is the largest legal organization in the nation dedicated exclusively to defending religious liberty for all Americans.”
On June 27th, 2022, the Supreme Court ruled in favor of the high school coach. Not long after the news broke, many people came out to voice their excitement over the decision. Senator Ted Cruz wrote a lengthy statement explaining his involvement in the case and his excitement over the outcome.
Senator Cruz wrote on Twitter, “I am proud to be part of a group of 11 Senators and 14 Representatives that filed an amicus brief with the Court that argued in defense of Coach Kennedy’s free exercise of his faith.”
He continued, “I’m thankful the Supreme Court fully enforced the First Amendment—in a major victory for religious liberty—and upheld our God-given right to practice our faith.”
Today, the Supreme Court reversed the Ninth Circuit’s decision that allowed Coach Kennedy, a high school football coach in the State of Washington, to be fired for silently kneeling and praying after his team’s games. 1/x

The outpouring of support for the court’s decision has been immense and reveals how important this case is for the country. Former Press Secretary for President Trump, Kayleigh McEnany, commented “A HUGE victory at the Supreme Court for religious freedom & Coach Kennedy, who merely knelt in silent prayer on the 50 yard line after a football game! @1stLiberty has been fighting this case for years & today they have a hard-earned victory for all people of faith!”

Congresswoman Mary Miller also chimed in, saying, “A huge win for religious liberty in the Supreme Court thanks to PRESIDENT TRUMP! Coach Kennedy set a wonderful example for young men by praying after each game. We need God back in our schools to save our culture from the sick agenda of the radical left!”

While the Biden administration is still in office, and the mid-terms haven’t come yet, Conservative Republicans are still landing historic wins in the Supreme Court. What a time to be an American.
