WATCH: GOP Congress Members Respond To Trump's Unprecedented Prosecution

As Donald J. Trump, the 45th President of the United States prepared to plead not guilty to 37 federal counts related to his handling of allegedly classified documents, several of the most influential America-First Republicans in Congress responded.

Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia took to Twitter to voice her outrage and concern.
She wrote, "The decisions made here in Washington, at the Capitol and the Supreme Court, are in some cases literally the difference between life and death. And there’s people here in Washington who are rejoicing that President Trump was arraigned today on 37 charges of election interference." The Congresswoman reminded the American people that the 37 counts represent "37 counts of election interference" being committed by the Biden Administration at the direction of Special Counsel Jack Smith.

Similarly, Congressman Byron Donalds of Florida wrote,

"Joe Biden & his family literally pawned off this country to the highest bidder throughout his entire 5 decade career in D.C. Trump (a former POTUS) retains some of his presidential documents & they want to lock him up for life. The Left is turning this nation on its head."

Ohio's Congressman J.D. Vance however, offered a more action-oriented approach when he pledged Tuesday morning to "hold all DoJ nominees," of the Biden administration "until Merrick Garland stops using his agency to harass Joe Biden’s political opponents."

In a video, just over a minute long posted to Twitter, Vance said, "I think it's time we stop just whining about this problem and debating this problem and actually do something about it."

He added, "I think we need to grind this department to a halt until Merrick Garland promises to do his job and stop going after his political opponents."

He cited Trump as just "the most recent example of the fact that Merrick Garland uses his department for political purposes."
