The sisters and widow of a marine killed in the Abbey Gate bombing last year during the military’s withdrawal from Afghanistan have recently refiled a lawsuit against left-wing actor Alec Baldwin after he maligned her as an “insurrectionist.”
The sisters and widow of Marine Lance Corporal Rylee J. McCollum, who was one of 13 servicemen to die during the Afghanistan evacuation, sued the troublesome actor, for the second time after the first suit was denied jurisdiction in Wyoming. This comes after Baldwin posted the image of Roice McCollum on social media following online messages.
Baldwin initially donated $5,000 to Jiennah McCollum, Lance Cpl. McCollum’s wife, following his death. However, after images surfaced online of Roice at the January 6 Capitol demonstrations, Baldwin became enraged, per The Daily Wire.
“Are you the same woman I sent the $ for your sister’s husband who was killed during the Afghanistan exit?” the actor asked in an online message. “When I sent the $ for your late brother, out of real respect for his service to this country, I didn’t know you were a January 6th rioter.”
Roice has stated that she never entered the capitol that day and was perfectly within her rights to protest alongside the thousands of other Trump supporters who did so peacefully.
“Protesting is perfectly legal in the country and I’ve already had my sit down with the FBI,” she wrote. “Thanks, have a nice day!”
The actor, who recently has been under investigation after he shot a producer last year on the movie set “Rust,” wasn’t satisfied with her answer and instead falsely claimed that her actions resulted in the death of a police officer. He also accused the grieving sister of damaging government property.
“Your activities resulted in the unlawful destruction of government property, the death of a law enforcement officer, an assault on the certification of the presidential election,” Baldwin wrote. “I reposted your photo. Good luck.”
Following the conversation, Baldwin reposted her photo which resulted in “hostile, aggressive, [and] hateful messages,” according to the lawsuit filed in the Southern District of New York.
Baldwin seems to be paranoid about Trump supporters. In an interview earlier this month, he said he feared that the former president would send supporters after him: “One thousand percent, I’m nervous that a bunch of people who were instructed by the former president to go to the Capitol — and they killed a law enforcement officer — and you don’t think that I think to myself, ‘Are some of those people gonna come and kill me?”
Perhaps Baldwin should pay attention to his own career and legal troubles, as the family of Halyna Hutchins considers legal action following her death on the “Rust” movie set last year following a “misfire” when the actor was handling a weapon – rather than worrying about patriotic Americans.
