Disgraced CNN anchor Don Lemon is reportedly set to return to work on Wednesday, but with a catch. The host is set to endure what was referred to as “formal training” in response to his recent issues with cohosts and his blatantly sexist remarks about GOP presidential candidate and former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley.
According to a memo obtained by The Associated Press, the nature of the training is unspecified however, CNN CEO Chris Licht told his employees in an email Monday that it is important to him that the network “balances accountability with … fostering a culture in which people can own, learn and grow from their mistakes.”
Lemon’s absence following his latest and most public incident has been widely noticed since Thursday when he now infamously stated that the 51-year-old Haley wasn’t “in her prime.” His absurd statement earned him the immediate on-air rebuke of his co-hosts Poppy Harlow and Kaitlan Collins who questioned his thinking.

“Nikki Haley isn’t in her prime,” Lemon claimed. “Sorry, when a woman is considered to be in her prime in her 20s, and 30s, and maybe 40s…”
Harlow immediately quipped, “I think we need to qualify. Are you talking about prime for childbearing or are you talking about prime for being president?”
“Don’t shoot the messenger, I’m just saying what the facts are, Google it!” Lemon answered.
According to the AP, Licht wrote in his memo, “I sat down with Don and had a frank and meaningful conversation. He has agreed to participate in formal training, as well as continuing to listen and learn. We take this situation very seriously.”
After Lemon put out a public statement that he “regrets” the remarks, Haley appeared on Fox News telling the hosts, “I have always made the liberals’ heads explode. They can’t stand the fact that a minority, conservative, female would not be on the Democratic side.”
