Former Congressman Adam Kinzinger has recently been exposed to have been involved with an organization that is currently under investigation by federal authorities for illegal exports to Ukraine and who supported individuals who faked their participation in the war in Ukraine.
The organization, Ripley’s Heroes, is reportedly under investigation for export violations, as reported by The New York Times.
The organization has reportedly sent over $63,000 in night vision equipment and optics to Ukraine despite those items being restricted by the government given the potential that they could land in Russian hands.
In September 2022, Rep. Adam Kinzinger got involved with the organization as a member of “Ripley’s Heroes Board of Advisors,” as reported by the Post Millennial.
“With great appreciation, we’d like to announce today that Rep. Adam Kinzinger (Illinois 16th District) will join Ripley’s Heroes on our Board of Advisors,” wrote the founder of the organization, Rip Rawlings, on Twitter. “His dedication to Ukraine and solid service to America greatly enhances our mission. “

Making matters worse for Kinzinger, he has praised an individual, James Vasquez, who has been accused of stolen valor, the act of claiming service in the armed forces despite that not being true, in Ukraine.
“[T]oo many folks are trying to create fake acts with him. I have a bill in congress to deal with this… Since this was happening to me for so long,” the Illinois congressman said, adding that Vasquez was “legit.”
“As a soldier in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who has to live by the rules of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who has fought and fights at the front for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, I’m done w/ lies,” wrote Sarah Ashton-Cirillo. “James Vasquez is not and has not been in ZSU.”

It seems like Adam Kinzinger may have gotten himself tied up with the wrong group of opportunists. If these allegations are true and Kinzinger was involved in the shipments of equipment illegally to Ukraine then it is possible that he could be fined or charged upon the conclusion of the federal investigation.
