On Monday, President Donald Trump slammed Vice President Kamala Harris for her multiple policy reversals in recent weeks as she attempts to distance herself from the progressive reputation that she built up during the 2020 Democrat primary and during her tenure as President Joe Biden's second in command.
"Kamala Harris has flip-flopped on virtually every policy she has supported and lived by for her entire career, from the Border to Tips, and the Fake News Media isn't reporting it," Trump explained on Truth Social. "She sounds more like Trump than Trump, copying almost everything. She is conning the American public, and will flip right back. I will MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! There will be no flipping!!!"
Harris has changed her views on several important topics, including her support for universal healthcare, confiscation via a mandatory buyback of so-called assault weapons, a ban on fracking, and much more. Despite holding all of these positions in 2019 during the Democratic primary, she reversed her policy positions via a campaign spokesperson in recent weeks.
One of the most stunning examples of Harris' recent policy shift was her advocacy for eliminating taxes on tips for hospitality and service workers, a key policy proposed by President Trump in June. The remark to the Las Vegas crowd drew criticism online, with the hashtag #CopyCatKamala trending on X.
Despite her insistence that she would work to lower taxes on service workers, Harris' record reveals she's done the exact opposite. In 2022, Vice President Harris cast the tie-breaking vote to pass the Inflation Reduction Act, which gave the IRS the authority to track down workers' tips so that they could be taxed.
In addition to flipping her stance on tips, Harris has also tried to advertise herself as being tough on the border despite the Biden-Harris administration overseeing record-breaking levels of illegal immigration over the past three and a half years. "KAMALA HARRIS IS STRONG, FOR YEARS, ON OPEN BORDERS, NO FRACKING, DEFUND THE POLICE, AND MORE," Trump explained. "LETS SEE HER FLIP-FLOP ON THOSE 'LITTLE' LIFELONG POLICIES OF HERS!!! A COMPLETELY FRAUDULENT CAMPAIGN!!!"
Vice President Kamala Harris revealed her true colors in 2019 when she ran for the Democrat nomination, and she is willing to say or do anything to get into higher political office. Her entire career has represented that fact as she climbed the political ladder from district attorney in San Fransisco to vice president. She has repeatedly flip-flopped on her policy stances throughout her career, and Americans should be wary of a candidate willing to abandon their positions at the slightest inconvenience.
